Loss of Possession Rates
Loss of Possession Percentage takes a look at what rate a player loses possession of the ball. It takes the total of failed passing attempts, unsuccessful dribbles, along with turnovers & divides it by the amount of possessions a player has. Data comes courtesy of InStat Football
The above table looks at the best players at retaining possession. In the sea of Celtic, Rangers , & to a lesser extent, Hibernian players, Glen Kamara really sticks out. He & Danny Devine are the only players from non-top six team clubs on this list.
The following players have the highest Loss of Possession rates. Note: I've excluded forwards because they made up the the bulk of the list.
I don't think you can learn much by looking at forwards Loss of Possession rates...but players in other positions become targets of heightened pressing (in midfield & in defensive third), Wingers who have high Loss of Percentage rates tend to be dangerous players, but if you offer support maybe you can force a turnover & trigger a quick transition.
Ohhh....Richard Foster. In a sea of attacking players, whose risk v. reward quotient is so worth it, there you are.
In the future, I'll break these down by position.
